Fall light on the street
The sun is low, and shadows stretch across the sidewalk. For this shortened Monthly Assignment, you have more than two weeks to show what fall light does to the street. Fall colors, backlighting or a reflection after the rain: you can take this in plenty of directions.

How to approach it
Even at midday, sunlight falls at an angle across building fronts and paving stones. Take a look at where a long shadow ends or where someone walks through a strip of light. An ordinary street corner can suddenly look very different.
Light shines through the leaves of trees along the street. That’s where you’ll find warm fall colors, with people walking beneath or between the trees. Backlighting can also trace a thin rim of light around someone.
As evening approaches, streetlights and store window lights come on during rush hour. There’s still some daylight, and the street is busy. After a shower, that light reflects off the wet pavement. Rain has its advantages.
